A mosque needs the shoe racks, the entrances, the courtyard and the donation box covered; prayer halls are normally left uncovered. Losses happen at the racks in the fifteen minutes around Jumma prayers, when a markaz mosque's congregation triples. One camera per rack area, mounted to catch faces as people bend to collect shoes, ends most complaints on its own — and it is the cheapest camera on the whole system.
The donation box protects the collectors
A camera on the box, recording continuously, is less about thieves than about the committee members who empty it. A recorded, timestamped collection protects the people handling cash from any later question, which is why it is usually the treasurer who asks for this camera.
