What the figure buys
Two scheduled services a year, coil and drain cleaning, measurements recorded per unit per visit, and a place at the front of the queue in peak season. That last item is the one the money is really for, because in a July heatwave the difference between same-day and four days is what the contract is protecting.
What it does not buy, said upfront
Parts, gas and repair labour, which are quoted separately at contract-holder rates. Physical damage and lightning are outside it. Any contract claiming to include all parts has priced them in somewhere you cannot check, and that is worth more scepticism than a contract that names its exclusions plainly.
Where it earns its money and where it does not
For two or three units in a house, booking a service each spring costs less. It earns its cost on premises where a failed unit stops trade — a restaurant floor, a clinic waiting room, a server room, an office where twenty people cannot work. The value is downtime avoided, so it only makes sense where downtime costs something.

Each unit accumulates measured figures over time, and a unit whose running current has crept up across three visits is telling you something no single visit could. That history is what turns maintenance from a cost into a way of replacing units before they fail during trading hours rather than after.

Is an AC contract worth it for a house?
For two or three units, usually not — booking a service each spring costs less than a contract. It becomes worthwhile where a failure costs money rather than comfort. Households that genuinely benefit are the ones with many units, where the per-unit rate falls and coordinating the servicing has its own value.
What response time does a contract get?
Ours is same day inside Islamabad and Rawalpindi for contract holders, and we will not promise better in a July heatwave because it would not be true. Non-contract callouts in that month can wait days. That gap is the practical difference the cover buys, and it is worth asking any provider to state theirs.
Does the contract cover gas?
No, and be wary of one that says it does. Gas is not consumed, so a contract including annual refills is either pricing in a leak it does not intend to fix or charging you for something you should not need. Cover buys inspection and cleaning; a genuine leak is a repair, quoted separately.
