Dome or bullet camera — which goes where
Fit domes indoors and bullets outdoors — that rule settles most Islamabad installs. Domes cover rooms and corridors from the ceiling and resist tampering; bullets reach further at night because the infra-red sits clear of the lens. A markaz shop usually ends up with two or three domes inside and one bullet on the frontage.

Think in distances, not shapes
A dome gives a wide picture of everything within eight or ten metres — right for a shop floor, a pharmacy counter or an office corridor. A bullet holds detail at twenty metres and beyond, which is what a gate on a DHA boundary wall or a plaza car park actually needs. Decide from the furthest point you must recognise a face or a number plate at, then the housing chooses itself.
Night and weather
Bullet housings keep the infra-red LEDs forward of the glass, so less light bounces back into the lens. Dome covers collect Islamabad's monsoon film of dust and humidity, and a hazy cover turns night footage into white glare. If a dome must go outside — under a porch in Bahria, say — plan on wiping the cover every couple of months or the night picture quietly degrades.
Reach and tampering
A bullet on a bracket can be knocked or twisted off aim, so it belongs above three metres where a hand cannot reach it. A dome flush to a ceiling is awkward to re-point and vandal-rated versions shrug off a blow, which is why schools and guest houses in the F sectors get domes in stairwells even when a bullet would technically see further.

Can I use only one type for the whole building?
You can, but you pay for it in blind spots or wasted reach. Mixing costs nothing extra — a 4-camera package from PKR 55,000 can be any combination of housings.
Do domes hide which way they point?
The tinted cover does obscure the lens direction, which suits offices where staff watch the cameras back. As a deterrent the difference is small; visibility matters more than shape.
Rather have it done?
CCTV installation means a free survey of your shop, office or home, a camera plan that covers gates, counters and blind corners, cabling run through conduit, a recorder sized for the days of footage you want, and phone viewing working before handover. A four-camera 2MP package in Islamabad or Rawalpindi runs PKR 55,000 to 85,000 fitted.
