CCTV upgrade cost in Islamabad
PKR 45,000 to 70,000 typically upgrades a four-camera Islamabad system to 5MP over its existing coax — new cameras and a hybrid recorder, with no rewiring. That is roughly half the price of starting fresh, and the saving holds only if the cable in the walls tests clean first.

The cable test is the whole decision
Coax that has sat through ten monsoons may have corroded joints or runs crushed by later renovation work, and a reuse that fails mid-job costs more than a planned rewire would have. We test every run before quoting the upgrade path, so the number you agree to is the number you pay — not an estimate that grows when the walls disappoint.
Hybrid recorders let you upgrade unevenly
A hybrid unit runs your surviving analog cameras and new IP cameras side by side, so the budget goes where identification matters — a 5MP or IP camera at the entrance and the counter, existing cameras kept on the courtyard and stockroom. Plenty of G-sector houses and older markaz shops upgrade exactly this way, two cameras at a time.
The drive has to move with the resolution
Doubling camera resolution doubles what lands on the disk, so an upgrade that keeps the old 1 TB drive quietly cuts your retention in half. Budget the larger drive as part of the upgrade, not as a surprise on the first stock-take after — it is the line most often trimmed from a competing quote and most often regretted.

Should I upgrade or replace outright?
If the cabling tests sound, upgrade — the labour is already in your walls. If the runs are failing or badly routed, a fresh install gives a better system for similar total money, and we quote both so you can see the gap.
Will my ten-year-old cameras work with a new recorder?
HD analog formats generally run fine on a hybrid recorder. Anything from the standard-definition era is not worth reconnecting — its picture cannot identify anyone, and we would rather tell you than bill you for the channel.
Rather have it done?
CCTV installation means a free survey of your shop, office or home, a camera plan that covers gates, counters and blind corners, cabling run through conduit, a recorder sized for the days of footage you want, and phone viewing working before handover. A four-camera 2MP package in Islamabad or Rawalpindi runs PKR 55,000 to 85,000 fitted.
