Yes — get the landlord's written consent for drilling and external fixings first, then install for removal: surface trunking instead of chased walls, fixings that fill cleanly, and a recorder that sits on a shelf. Done that way, the system moves out with you and the deposit stays intact.

Consent before survey, in writing
In a markaz plaza there are often two permissions, not one: the landlord for your unit, and the plaza management for anything touching the facade, the roof or the common stairwell a cable must cross. A one-page note listing fixing points, cable routes and who makes good on exit settles it. Most Islamabad landlords sign without fuss — the disputes we see all started with nobody asking.
Install like a tenant, not an owner
A tenant's install should come out as neatly as it went in. That means surface trunking rather than chasing cable into plaster, screw fixings that fill and paint over in minutes, and a recorder on a shelf rather than boxed into joinery. We label every cable at both ends during a rented-premises install, because the same system will be re-fitted somewhere else one day and labels halve that job.
Own the logins, not just the boxes
Whoever runs the system holds the admin login — that is you, not the landlord and not the installer. It matters at exit: a locked recorder nobody can reset is scrap. When the tenancy ends we remove, transport and refit systems across the twin cities routinely; a removal and refit costs a fraction of buying new, provided the original install was planned for it.
Can I put CCTV in a rented shop without losing my deposit?
Who keeps the system when I leave?
You do — you bought it. Agree in the consent note that cameras and recorder are your removable fixtures, and leave the walls made good. Some landlords offer to buy the installed system instead, which is worth considering.
Is wireless a way around landlord permission?
Only partly. Cameras still need power and fixing screws, so consent is still needed — wireless just removes the longest cable runs. For a short tenancy it can make the exit cheaper.
