Taking a CCTV system to new premises
Yes — cameras, recorder, hard drive, power supplies and brackets all move with you. The cable does not: it stays in the old building's walls and conduit, and fresh cabling is the bulk of a refit's cost. Treat the equipment as already paid for and budget the move as installation labour.

Settle the old premises first
In a rented plaza unit, confirm what the landlord expects before removal day — most Islamabad tenancies want walls made good where brackets and conduit come off, and markaz plazas are particular about common-area cabling. Take the cameras, the recorder and its drive; leave the cable, because ripping it out damages both cable and walls for no real saving. Export any footage that might still matter before the recorder goes in a box.
Re-survey the new premises rather than copying
The new space has different doors, sight-lines and light, so copying the old camera positions wastes coverage. A fresh survey — free anywhere in Islamabad and Rawalpindi — maps the entries, the till or reception, and the blind corners, and it regularly shows the same cameras covering the new premises better from different positions than they ever managed in the old one.
Refit, reconnect, and re-add the app
The refit itself is new cable runs, remounting, and connecting the recorder to the new internet service so remote viewing follows you to the new address. Keep the admin password handy, because re-adding the system to your phones requires it, and check the recorder's clock once it powers up at the new premises — moves and power-downs are exactly when clocks quietly go wrong.
Can I move my CCTV system when I shift my shop or office?
Is moving cheaper than buying a new system?
Almost always, because the equipment is the expensive half and it survives the move. You pay for labour and cable rather than cameras and recorder — unless the system is old enough that the move is the natural upgrade moment.
Will my old footage survive the move?
Yes. Footage lives on the hard drive and the drive travels inside the recorder. Shut everything down properly before unplugging and the history plays back at the new address.
Rather have it done?
CCTV installation means a free survey of your shop, office or home, a camera plan that covers gates, counters and blind corners, cabling run through conduit, a recorder sized for the days of footage you want, and phone viewing working before handover.
