Placing cameras around an Islamabad house
A typical sector house needs four to six cameras: main gate, the carport or driveway, the most climbable stretch of boundary wall, and the front door, with one spare for the blind corner a survey usually finds. A 4-camera 2MP package runs PKR 55,000–85,000 installed; keep the recorder inside, locked away.

Gate and wall before anything else
Nearly every house entry comes through the gate or over the easiest stretch of wall, so those two positions get cameras first. In the lettered sectors many houses back onto a service lane, and that quiet back wall is climbed far more often than the front — give it a camera before you think about indoor coverage. The carport earns the next one, because vehicles and what is left in them attract the casual thief.
Height, light and the monsoon
Mount at three metres or higher so the camera is out of arm's reach, and put a modest light over the gate — it improves night footage more than a resolution upgrade would. Islamabad's monsoon is the season that finds bad workmanship: every outdoor joint should sit in a sealed junction box with a drip loop in the cable, or the first July downpour will get into the connectors and the picture will start dropping.
Recorder placement and backup
The recorder goes inside the house, in a cupboard that locks — a recorder in the garage or servant quarter leaves with the burglar along with the evidence. Put it on a small UPS as well: IESCO outages in the sectors are short but frequent enough that an unprotected system leaves gaps exactly when the street is dark. One modest unit keeps recording through a typical outage.

Do I need cameras inside the house?
Most families stop at the entrance hall. The break-in happens at the wall and the gate, so that is where the budget belongs — and interior cameras raise privacy questions within your own household worth settling first.
What does a home system cost in Islamabad?
