The app never stops alerting
Insects circling the infra-red, swaying branches, monsoon rain and sweeping headlights set off most false motion alerts, because basic detection reacts to any pixel change rather than to people. The cure is masking the zones that do not matter, easing sensitivity down, and using person or vehicle detection where the camera supports it.

Step 1: mask what does not matter
Open the motion settings and draw the detection zone over what you actually care about — the gate, the counter, the door — and exclude the road, the neighbour's tree and the sky. Passing traffic and moving foliage are the two biggest daytime triggers in the sector markets, and masking them removes most alerts without giving up an inch of real coverage.
Step 2: deal with the night-time insects
Infra-red draws insects, and a moth passing centimetres from the lens registers as something large moving fast. This is why alerts spike after dark, and it climbs again through the humid monsoon weeks. Moving the illumination away from the lens — a separate IR unit or an ordinary outdoor light — takes away the attraction at the worst spot and cuts overnight alerts sharply.
Step 3: switch to person and vehicle detection
Cameras from the last few years can classify a human or vehicle shape instead of reacting to raw change, and the difference in alert quality is dramatic. If your hardware supports it, enable it; if alerts genuinely matter to your premises and it does not, one smart camera on the critical view is a better spend than tuning an old one forever.
