Printers, scanners and copiers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

The right printer is decided by running cost per page and duty cycle, not by purchase price. An office laser starts near PKR 45,000 and a departmental multifunction near PKR 120,000, supplied, networked and set up on every machine that needs it.

Work out the real monthly volume

Pages per month decides everything. A machine rated for a thousand pages that is asked for four thousand fails within a year, and the warranty will say so. We count actual volume rather than accepting an estimate, because most offices underestimate their own printing substantially.

Compare cost per page, not sticker price

Cheap printers with expensive cartridges are the standard trap. We do the arithmetic across a year at your volume — a printer costing PKR 20,000 more can save several times that in consumables, and for high volume an ink-tank or a high-yield toner machine changes the number completely.

Network it properly, not through one PC

The printer takes its own network address, reserved so it does not move, and every machine connects directly. Sharing a printer through somebody's desktop means nobody can print when that person is out, which is the most common printing complaint we are called about.

Set scanning up so it is actually used

Scan-to-folder or scan-to-email configured and tested from the panel with real documents. A multifunction whose scanner nobody has configured is an expensive printer.

What the price covers. PKR 45,000 covers a networked mono office laser supplied and set up. A colour multifunction with scanning and duplex runs PKR 120,000 upward. High-volume departmental machines are quoted after a volume count. Consumables are quoted per cartridge with the expected page yield stated.

Questions people ask

Ink tank or laser?

Laser for text volume — faster, cheaper per page, and toner does not dry out during a quiet month. Ink tank where you print colour regularly and volume is moderate; the refill economics are genuinely good. What almost nobody should buy is a cheap cartridge inkjet for an office: the cartridges cost more than the printer within a year.

Are compatible cartridges worth the saving?

Sometimes, and it depends on the machine. On a workhorse mono laser, reputable compatibles are usually fine and the saving is real. On a colour machine where quality matters, or a device still under manufacturer warranty, they can cost you more than they save. We tell you which of the two you are dealing with rather than pushing one answer.

Why does the printer disappear from everyone's machine?

Almost always because it is getting its address from DHCP and the address changed after a power cut. Reserving an address for it on the router fixes it permanently and takes two minutes. The other common cause is a printer shared through one person's desktop, which stops working the moment that machine sleeps.
