Coverage maps are optimistic. We check what is actually live on your street — which is often two providers, not the five advertised — and what each one's realistic install queue looks like in that sector. In parts of Bahria and the newer societies the honest answer is sometimes that fiber is not there yet and a wireless link is the better buy this year.
Plan the entry and the termination point
The drop cable enters once, and where it terminates decides everything afterwards. It should land in a small enclosure near power, not loop across a room to a router balanced on a shelf. We agree the entry route and the enclosure position before the ISP crew arrives, so their visit takes twenty minutes instead of becoming a negotiation.
Handle the ISP visit and test what they leave
We meet the provider's team, confirm the ONT is properly terminated and not just taped to a wall, and test the line speed at the ONT before their van leaves. A fault found while they are still there is fixed that day; one found the next morning is a support ticket.
Put your own router behind it and prove it
The ISP's box is usually a weak router with a weak radio. We put a proper router behind it, move the network onto it, and prove the speed on a device across the premises rather than standing next to the ONT.
What the price covers. PKR 12,000 covers attending the ISP install, terminating properly, and configuring a router you already own. Adding an enclosure, internal cable run and a supplied router takes it to between PKR 25,000 and 45,000. The ISP's own connection and monthly charges are separate and paid to them directly.

Questions people ask
Why is my speed fine at the router and terrible in the next room?
Because the number the ISP sells is a line speed, and what you experience is a WiFi speed. Concrete walls and steel-reinforced slabs — normal construction here — cut a 5GHz signal hard within one room. The line is usually delivering exactly what you pay for; the coverage is the problem, and that is a WiFi job, not an ISP complaint.
Should I use the router the ISP gave me?
For a one-bedroom flat, it is adequate. For anything larger it is the weakest link in the building — limited range, few simultaneous devices, and firmware nobody updates. Keeping the ISP box as the modem and putting a proper router behind it is usually the single cheapest improvement to a slow home network.
Can you get me connected faster than the ISP's queue?
No, and anyone who says they can is either guessing or selling something. What we do change is the number of failed visits: most delays we see come from an install crew arriving to find no entry route, no power at the termination point or nobody with the keys. Having that ready turns three visits into one.
