What data recovery costs
Assessment is PKR 3,000 and tells you what is genuinely recoverable before you commit. Logical recoveries — deleted, formatted or corrupted volumes on a healthy drive — start at PKR 8,000. Physical failures needing cleanroom work are quoted after assessment and run considerably higher.

Logical against physical, which is the whole price difference
A logical recovery works on a drive that still reads: deleted files, a formatted volume, a corrupted partition. It happens at the bench from a sector image and is priced accordingly. A physical failure — head crash, seized motor — needs a cleanroom and donor parts, which is a different order of cost and a different order of complexity.
Why the assessment exists
So nobody spends recovery money to find out whether recovery is possible. The assessment reports which files are recoverable and in what condition before you commit to anything, and it comes off the recovery if you proceed. An honest 'half the folder is gone' is worth more than an optimistic quote and a disappointing result.
What raises the price
A drive that has been powered on repeatedly after failing, one that somebody has already attempted to recover, or one that has been opened. All three reduce what is retrievable and increase the work. The cheapest recovery is the one attempted first, on a drive that was switched off promptly.
What we do not charge for
A recovery that fails. If the data cannot be retrieved, you pay the assessment and nothing else. Nobody can guarantee an outcome before seeing a drive, and any service promising certain recovery is selling something it cannot know. What can be promised is that a failed attempt is not billed as a successful one.

Why is data recovery so expensive compared with a repair?
Because a physical recovery needs a cleanroom, donor drives and hours of careful imaging, and because the value is in the data rather than the hardware. Logical recoveries are much closer to ordinary bench pricing. The assessment tells you which of the two you are facing before any commitment.
Can I get a fixed price before you look at the drive?
For the assessment, yes — PKR 3,000. For the recovery, no, and be wary of anyone who offers one. A drive with a clean logical fault and a drive with head damage are completely different jobs, and quoting them the same means one of the two prices is wrong.
Is it worth it for family photos?
That is entirely your judgement and we will not push it either way. What we can do is tell you honestly, for PKR 3,000, exactly what is recoverable — so the decision is made against a real list rather than a hope. Plenty of people take that assessment and decide the answer is no.
