AC removal, shifting and refitting in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Shifting a split unit properly means pumping the gas down into the outdoor unit before disconnecting, so nothing is lost and nothing has to be bought again. Removal and refitting within Islamabad or Rawalpindi runs PKR 6,000 to 12,000, and the pump-down is what separates it from a rip-out.

Pump the gas down before touching a joint
The refrigerant is pumped into the outdoor unit and the valves closed, so the charge travels with the machine. Cutting a line without pumping down vents the gas to atmosphere and means paying for a full refill at the other end — that single step is most of the difference in price between a careful shift and a cheap one.
Remove without damaging pipe or brackets
Pipe is coiled at a radius that does not kink it, flares are protected and capped, and brackets come off cleanly. A kinked pipe is a restriction that will not show as a fault until the unit is running in the new room and cooling poorly for no visible reason.
Treat the refit as a new installation
New location sized and sited the same way we would a new unit, pipe run kept short and lagged, drain fall measured, and the system vacuumed before the valves are opened. A refit that skips the vacuum puts air and moisture into a system that had neither.
Measure and hand over
Running current and coil temperature difference measured at the new location and recorded. If the charge is short after the move, we find out why rather than simply topping it up.
What the price covers. PKR 6,000 covers removal and refitting of one split unit within Islamabad or Rawalpindi where the new location needs a standard pipe run. Longer runs, new core drilling or a high-level outdoor position take it to PKR 12,000. New pipe, if the old run cannot be reused, is charged per metre.

Questions people ask
Will I lose the gas when the unit is moved?
Not if it is pumped down first. The charge is driven into the outdoor unit and sealed behind the valves, so it moves with the machine and no refill is needed. If someone quotes a shift and then quotes gas on top as a matter of course, they are planning to vent your refrigerant rather than save it.
Can the old copper pipe be reused?
Usually yes, if it comes out without kinks and the new run is not longer than the old one. Reusing it saves real money. Where the new location needs more length, joining old pipe to new adds joints — and every joint is a future leak point — so past a certain distance a fresh run is the better buy.
I am moving house. Should I take the AC or sell it?
Take it if it is under a few years old and working well — a proper shift costs a fraction of a replacement. Selling makes more sense for an older R22 unit, where the moving cost is a meaningful share of what a reconditioned replacement would cost at the new address, and you would inherit the gas cost problem anyway.
