Fault-finding
The CCTV phone app will not connect
Something changed at one end or the other — a phone or app update, or a new router after an internet upgrade at the premises. The recorder is almost always still recording throughout. Deleting the device from the app and adding it back again clears the majority of cases without any site visit.

Test on WiFi and mobile data separately
Switch WiFi off and try over mobile data, then reverse the test. Connecting on the premises WiFi but failing outside means the recorder's route to the internet is broken — common right after a fiber upgrade or a replacement router, which the sectors see constantly. Failing on both networks points at the app or the recorder itself instead. Two minutes of testing decides which problem you are actually solving.
Remove the device and add it back
App updates occasionally corrupt the stored device entry, and no amount of retrying fixes a corrupted entry. Delete the recorder from the app, then add it again by scanning the QR code in the recorder's network menu. You will need the admin password to do it — which is the standing argument for keeping that password written down somewhere other than inside the very app that has just forgotten it.
Try a second phone before blaming the recorder
Install the app on another phone and add the same device. If it connects, the recorder and the internet are both healthy and the fault lives in the first handset — usually a battery-saver mode, a denied permission or a VPN quietly strangling the app in the background. If neither phone connects from outside, the recorder's network settings need attention on site, and that is a short visit.
Why has my CCTV app suddenly stopped working?
Am I losing footage while the app is down?
No. The app is only a window onto what the recorder stores locally, and recording continues regardless. Everything from the outage period is sitting on the drive waiting for playback.
Can this be fixed without a visit?
Often, yes. If the recorder is still reachable online we reconfigure it remotely. If the premises router changed, someone has to be on site once — a short call-out anywhere in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.
Rather have it done?
Security camera repair covers black screens, recorders that stopped writing, lost phone access after an internet change, and footage that will not play back. Most faults trace to power, connectors or settings rather than a dead camera. Callout in Islamabad or Rawalpindi starts at PKR 3,000, with the full fix priced before any work.
