Inspect and measure against the schematic
Visual inspection for liquid damage and burnt components, then the rails measured in sequence against the board's own schematic. Board repair without documentation is component-swapping, and it is why so many boards come to us having already been 'repaired' once.
Find the failed component, not the failed symptom
A dead rail traces back to a specific part — a shorted capacitor, a failed MOSFET, a charging controller. We identify it and check what killed it, because a component that failed from an upstream fault will simply fail again if only it is replaced.
Rework properly with the right heat
Hot-air rework at controlled temperature with proper flux and preheat, not a bare iron on a multilayer board. Overheating lifts pads and warps boards, and a board damaged during repair is a board nobody can fix afterwards.
Burn in under load before it goes back
Repaired boards run under sustained load with temperatures monitored for hours before return. A board that works for ten minutes on the bench is not repaired — most rework failures show up under thermal cycling, which is exactly what the burn-in is for.
What the price covers. PKR 6,000 covers straightforward board work such as a charging circuit or a power rail component. Complex faults — liquid damage across multiple rails, or a failed controller needing a scarce part — run PKR 12,000 to 25,000. Inspection is PKR 3,000 and comes off the repair. Questions people ask
Is a chip-level repair reliable, or will it fail again?
It is reliable when the root cause was found rather than only the failed component. A capacitor that failed because a controller upstream is out of tolerance will fail again in months if only the capacitor is changed — which is why we trace the cause and why we burn boards in under load before returning them. A repair that survives hours of thermal cycling is a repair that holds.
The board got wet. Is there any point?
Often yes, and speed matters enormously. Liquid damage is corrosion, and corrosion continues while the board sits. A board brought in within days, cleaned properly in an ultrasonic bath and repaired, has a decent chance; the same board after a month of sitting in a drawer usually does not. Do not try to power it on to check — that is what turns a repairable board into a dead one.
Why not just replace the motherboard?
Because for most laptops a replacement board costs several times a repair, and for older models it is not available at all. Replacement is the right answer where the board is cheap and available or the damage is spread across too much of it. We give you both numbers before any work, so it is your decision rather than ours.
