Fire and smoke detection systems in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

A fire detection system links smoke and heat detectors, manual call points and sounders to a panel that tells you which zone triggered. A conventional four-zone panel with detectors and sounders for a small office or plaza floor starts near PKR 60,000 installed, priced per detection point after that.

Zone the building before choosing detectors

A panel that only says 'fire somewhere' is close to useless in a plaza. We divide the premises into zones that map to how people would actually search it — floor by floor, or front-of-house and store room — so the panel points at a place rather than raising a general alarm.

Match the detector to the room

Smoke detectors belong in offices and corridors. Kitchens, generator rooms and dusty stores take heat detectors, because a smoke head in a kitchen is a nuisance alarm every lunchtime and gets disconnected within a fortnight. Getting this right is most of the difference between a system that stays armed and one that becomes decoration.

Call points, sounders and escape routes

Manual call points go on the escape routes at the exits, where somebody leaving passes them anyway. Sounders are placed and levelled so the alarm is audible in every occupied room over normal working noise — we test that rather than assume it.

Commission zone by zone, and log it

Every detector is triggered and confirmed at the panel, every sounder is heard, and the result is written into a commissioning record you keep. That record is what a landlord, an insurer or an inspector asks for, and a system without one is hard to defend.

What the price covers. PKR 60,000 covers a conventional four-zone panel, six detectors, two call points and two sounders for a small office or one plaza floor. Cost after that is per point — roughly PKR 3,500 to 6,000 per detector installed. Addressable panels, which name the individual detector rather than the zone, start considerably higher and suit buildings above two floors.

Included on every visit

  • Zoning plan mapped to how the building would actually be searched
  • Smoke or heat detectors chosen per room, not per price list
  • Manual call points on the escape routes
  • Sounders levelled and proven audible in occupied rooms
  • Backup battery on the panel
  • Every point triggered and confirmed during commissioning
  • Written commissioning record handed to you

Questions people ask

Conventional or addressable — which do I need?

Conventional is fine for a single floor or a small unit: the panel names a zone and you search it in seconds. Addressable earns its extra cost from about two floors up, or anywhere searching a zone would take real time, because it names the individual detector. Buying addressable for one shop floor is spending money on precision you will never use.

Why not a smoke detector in the kitchen?

Because it will alarm on cooking, every day, and within two weeks somebody will disconnect it — at which point the kitchen, the highest-risk room in the building, is the one room with no detection. A heat detector triggers on a genuine temperature rise instead and stays connected, which is worth far more than the theoretical earlier warning.

Do you maintain it afterwards?

Yes, and a detection system genuinely needs it — detectors collect dust, batteries age and sounders fail silently. We do a yearly test of every point with a written record, which is also what an insurer or a landlord asks to see. That sits inside the same AMC arrangement as the rest of the site.
